Geachte dames en heren,

Mag ik me even voorstellen aan degenen onder u die ik nog niet eerder heb aangeschreven? Mijn naam is Richard Schoot en ik schrijf over politiek, godsdienst en media op mijn website www.ibcpp.org.uk Het 'ibcpp' staat voor: Initiative for the British Christian Patriotic Party.

Ik neem de vrijheid uw aandacht te vragen voor het volgende. Op 9 oktober jl. werd in het BBC-programma The Andrew Marr Show de Britse minister van defensie Sir Michael Fallon geïnterviewd. In dat interview uitte hij een aantal beschuldigingen richting Rusland, waaronder deze, en ik citeer hem nu, "they [de Russen] even tried to interfere on the Dutch referendum on the Ukraine association agreement". Ook de Britse krant The Sun plaatste dit citaat, in het artikel 'Party to the slaughter' van 9 oktober jl.

De defensieminister van een bondgenoot van Nederland - Groot-Brittannië - heeft dus kennelijk bewijs in handen waaruit blijkt dat een mogendheid buiten dat bondgenootschap - Rusland - heeft getracht de politieke besluitvorming in ons land te verstoren of te verhinderen.

Ik wil u daarom het volgende vragen:

1) Hebt u kennis genomen van de genoemde opmerking van minister Fallon?

2) Als u het niet al gedaan hebt, gaat u dan onze minister van defensie vragen of zij haar Britse ambtgenoot zal vragen om het bewijs op basis waarvan hij de geciteerde uitspraak heeft gedaan?

3) Gaat u vervolgens het bewijs bespreken in een openbare zitting van de Tweede Kamer, zodat het Nederlandse volk te weten komt welke oneigenlijke rol Rusland heeft proberen te spelen?

Ik heb op mijn website voor het eerst op 16 oktober jl. over deze zaak geschreven.

Ik heb hem geantwoord dat ik die e-mail niet zal publiceren, omdat hij niet afkomstig was van de aangeschreven heer Roemer, maar ik heb hem evenzogoed vriendelijk bedankt voor zijn bericht. (17 februari 2017)

Dear Madams, Dear Sirs,

May I introduce myself to those among you I haven't written to earlier? My name is Richard Schoot and I'm writing about politics, religion and media on my website www.ibcpp.org.uk The 'ibcpp' stands for 'Initiative for the British Christian Patriotic Party'.

I'm taking the liberty to ask your attention for the following. On October the 9th, Britain's Secretary of State for Defence, Sir Michael Fallon MP, was interviewed in the BBC's The Andrew Marr Show. In that interview, he made several accusations against Russia, among which, and I quote: "They (the Russians) even tried to interfere on the Dutch referendum on the Ukraine association agreement". British newspaper The Sun also published this quote, in the article 'Party to the slaughter' of October the 9th.

Apparently, the minister of defence of an ally of The Netherlands - Great Britain - has proof that a power outside of that alliance - Russia - was trying to disturb or to obstruct the political decision-making in our country.

I would therefore like to ask you:

1) Have you taken notice of the aforementioned remark of minister Fallon?

2) If you haven't done so already, are you going to ask our minister of defence whether she is going to ask her British colleague for the proof on the basis of which he made this accusation?

3) Will you subsequently discuss the evidence in a public gathering of parliament, so that the Dutch people will find out which inappropiate role Russia has been trying to play?

On October the 16th, I wrote about this issue on my website for the first time.

On January the 18th, an aide of the parliamentary SP party sent me an e-mail
I replied I wouldn't publish that e-mail, because it wasn't from the addressed Mr Roemer, but I have kindly thanked him for his message all the same. (17th February 2017)
